Aluminium may be immensely robust, but it can be shaped into a very trim profile and that’s how you’re able to incorporate so much glass into aluminium frames. When conservatories first came on the scene, they would always be constructed from timber. The main problem with wood as a material, particularly for conservatory construction, is that it is porous and once it gets wet, it loses its resilience and appearance. To solve this age-old problem, we offer Heritage frames that for all intents and purposes could be confused for timber, but are actually made from several weatherproof materials and perform so much better. 19th Century timber flush casement windows have been the inspiration behind their design, with us even managing to recreate the trademark flush fitting sash when the frame is fully closed.

We’re often asked what is the secret behind our extraordinarily striking aluminium finishes and it’s due to our colouring experts employing an 11-stage powder-coating procedure to apply each finish to the aluminium frames. If it was any less than 11 stages, they wouldn’t be half as spectacular as they are. We have the capability to produce woodgrain finishes for our aluminium conservatories in Walnut, Oak and Rosewood, to make them look just like wood-built extensions.

If you look back at 19th Century windows, you will notice that they had painted finishes, often in colours like Clotted Cream and Painswick. We don’t do painted finishes because they wash away too easily. However, we do plenty of Heritage finishes, including the aforementioned Clotted Cream and Painswick, as well as Corse Lawn and Eclectic Grey. Once applied, they give our conservatories a timber-like effect.

No other door can really compete with French doors in the beauty stakes. They’re so wonderfully decorative and stylishly crafted. It’s entirely your choice if the doors open inwards or outwards. You would be best opting for an outward opening if your conservatory is on the small side and you want to maximise its space. You will find yourself incapable of keeping your hands away from them when the weather is good enough to have them open.

Most of the people who already own a conservatory and suffer problems with it, can point the finger of blame at their polycarbonate roof. If only they had one of our modernised polycarbonate roofing systems, which come in 25mm or 35mm sheets and provide year-round weather protection. They also do a fantastic job of minimising any glare from the sun and even more so when you choose to include foil inserts in the system. Our polycarbonate roofs can be bought in any of the following three shades: bronze, opal and clear.

We don’t hide anything from customers and tell them straight that the placement of a tiled roof to their conservatory can restrict how much light enters into the extension. Immediately after informing them of this, we state that this can be resolved with the inclusion of one or more roof windows in the system. As soon as they find out how effective a tiled roof is at stopping any hot or cold weather from causing the internal temperature to become unbearable, it usually sells it to them. Depending on your own personal preference, we can manufacture a tiled roof in either slate or tile form. These are not the type of slates or tiles that will very easily break, and they come in a more varied choice of colours than traditional tiles and slates.
